Vistula Narrow Gauge Railway

We owe our name to this railway. Right next to the Habitat run the tracks of the Vistula Narrow Gauge Railway, whose history reaches the beginning of the 20th century. It is a living technical monument that still delights the eye and lets you feel the rhythm of past years.

Karczmiska station

Karczmiska Station

Just a 5-minute walk from our gates is the heart of the narrow-gauge railway - Karczmiska station. This is where the museum, historic engine house and water tower are located. You can feel the scent of warm grease and steam here, and see restored carriages that once transported sugar from nearby plantations.

"A ride on these trains is not just transport, it is a slow discovery of the Lublin region landscape at a pace that lets you notice every flower in the meadow."

Railway carriages

Trip into the unknown

During the tourist season, the railway regularly sets off towards Opole Lubelskie or Poniatowa. It is a perfect option for a family day out - open summer carriages offer great views and fresh air, and a shared bonfire on one of the clearings is a permanent part of the program.

  • Regular rides on Sundays (May - September)
  • Bonfire with sausage roasting included in the ticket price
  • Possibility to take bicycles in a dedicated carriage

Plan your ride

Tickets can be purchased directly at the station in Karczmiska or online. We recommend checking the current schedule before your trip.
