Sky Neighbors

Po Kolei Habitat is surrounded by nature. You can meet squirrels, hares and roe deer here, but we are most proud of being home to many bird species. Bring binoculars or use the telescope on site, sit on the terrace and listen to the concert of our winged residents.

Morning Concert at the Habitat

Open a bird atlas and try to identify one of the many species found here.

Common Blackbird

Common Blackbird (Turdus merula)

A charming resident of our orchard. The male impresses with deep black feathers and a contrasting yellow-orange beak. His melodic, slightly melancholic song is the most beautiful soundtrack of Po Kolei Habitat, heard best during warm spring evenings from the tops of the tallest trees.

Fieldfare

Fieldfare (Turdus pilaris)

A social and energetic resident of our orchards. You can recognize it by its grey head, rusty back and characteristic spotted belly. Fieldfares are true guardians of the garden - their loud rattling calls warn other birds of danger.

Eurasian Jay

Eurasian Jay (Garrulus glandarius)

The most observant resident of Po Kolei Habitat. You can recognize it by pinkish plumage and shiny blue feathers on the wings. It is an excellent mimic - it can imitate other birds and even... domestic animals!

Common Pheasant

Common Pheasant (Phasianus colchicus)

A majestic resident of nearby field margins and meadows. Males impress with rich colors and long tails while proudly walking along tree lines. Their loud metallic calls often carry through the area just after sunrise.
